Mini-Baccarat

Mini Bacarrat

Traditionally the grandest of all casino games, Baccarat (pronounced BA-CA-RAH) and its European counterpart, Chemin de Fer, is played in casinos throughout the world. Baccarat is a contest between two hands (the Player's hand and the Banker's hand) rather than between a player and a dealer. In other words, when placing wages, you may bet on either hand.

Baccarat is played with eight (8) decks of cards dealt from a shoe similar to the ones used in Blackjack. The object of the game is to come as close as possible to the number nine.

Numbered cards (ace through nine) count as their face value, but Face cards and tens, or any combination of cards totaling ten, count as nothing. For example, a six and seven, which totals 13, counts as a "3". The highest hand in Baccarat is 9 and the lowest is zero. Therefore, a wager on either hand wins if the value is closer to 9 than the other hand. If the hands are of equal value (tie), neither hand wins or loses. A TIE bet is offered in Mini-Baccarat. A bet that the hands will tie pays 9-1.

Mini-Baccarat, offered by Las Vegas Casino Lines, is so named because it accommodates a maximum of 9 bettors, and only the dealer handles the cards and shoe. Just as in the big Baccarat game, the same rigid rules are followed that govern the draw of the cards. The two hands, Player and Banker, are drawn to designated areas directly in front of the dealer.

Bettors may bet that either the Banker or the Player will win. If the Player bet winds, it will be paid even money. If a Bank bet wins, a 5% commission will be charged. As a convenience to the winning Bank bettors, the dealer will keep track of the accrued commissions and defer collections until the end of the shoe.
